The story unfolds in the near future, in the 2020s. Human civilization is facing a severe ecological crisis. In search of a path forward, the vast scientific initiative known as “AEGIS” is launched. It presents the world with an idealistic vision: heal the Earth through frontier technology and build an ecological utopia. Yet beneath the polished surface of this “salvation project” lies a troubling technological premise. Those directing the project believe that human emotion and memory are the variables responsible for ecological imbalance. To create their ideal order, they secretly initiate a controversial experiment designed to “redefine” humanity from the ground up. As the technology begins to evolve and awaken on its own, the established order starts to fracture. The world becomes a battleground for competing powers: a corporate giant attempting to calculate destiny through data; rebels determined to break free from the system; awakened digital lifeforms observing the fate of humankind; and ancient wisdom and peacekeeping forces seeking a third path—one of harmonious coexistence—in the spaces between them.
